Queen Batea

As one of the ancient Tartyn, Queen Batea is revered for her nobility and her knowledge in Tynogeum. As a devout follower of Photia, her mental and physical strength is commonly discussed by those who agree and disagree with her Queen Batea Referencemethods. She rules with the protection of her people at the forefront, and is always willing to give her assistance in any way she can. Queen Batea is often found away from the Laurel Villa in Demithos, either helping build new housing or visiting Gem Meadows to assist in crop harvest.

Queen Batea was the one who ultimately decided to exile all Astrali from Tynogeum in the year 18 AL. This decision was made after there was a massive line of explosives that ran into the Embercall to enlarge the mining operation there, causing a massive aftershock that affected all of Kunvadis. The waters of the Molten Gulf crashed into the Midafait Peninsula and The Primeval Wild while a severe thunderstorm raked the skies of the Silverfalcon Caps and Radgar Mountains. The earth cracked, shaking Tynogeum violently and creating the void that is now known as the Whispering Lagoon. But the most dangerous and deadly reaction was the 18 AL eruption of Mount Onyx, destroying the first above-ground city of Tynogeum, Ashenhollow. Over 100 Tartyn lost their lives, including Queen Batea's mentor and the first ancient Tartyn who had no name.

Those deaths sent Queen Batea into a rage, demanding that The Constellation of Starhaven reprimand and acknowledge the damage that they had done and the anger they had caused the Vadi. She lectured that their sky gods held no candle to the pain that the Vadi felt when that explosion shook the continents. When The Constellation disagreed, Queen Batea decreed that if they had no respect for the land and the Vadi who made it, they did not deserve to be close to the ones who made the world they live on, nor would she sacrifice more Tartyn to the disrespect they received.

Any Astrali in Tynogeum were given a year to clear out before they were forced out, and the gates normally open to the underground continent were shut and covered with dirt by elemental Tartyn mythics. For the Tartyn that did not wish to stay in Tynogeum, they were allowed to stay above the surface, but were not allowed to return and were required to drink a memory suppression serum to ensure that Tynogeum was not bothered. This was both for the safety of the hidden continent, and for the adventurous Astrali, as Queen Batea was ordering the construction of Watchtowers to halt, and potentially harm, any who pushed their luck.

It wasn't until 307 years later, when the Vadi began to thrash once more and uncovered the entrance to Tynogeum in an event known as The Rumble, that the Tartyn and Tynogeum was revealed to the surface once more.

Now, Queen Batea has reluctantly opened the gates to Tynogeum once more thanks to the counsel of her husband and king, General Theodosis. So long as the other Stellaborn respect and understand the importance of their Vadi in their daily lives, the past will be remembered, but not used as a weapon against them.
