With waters that are nearly always just below boiling, the Molten Gulf is not a location for tourists to visit or swim in on a vacation. Though there are some who can handle and enjoy the constant heat of the water, it is more commonly advised to avoid testing the waters yourself. Active lava beds heat the water's surface from below with Mount Onyx and its constant eruptions not helping lowering the gulf's temperatures.

To cross the Molten Gulf is to take a risk for life and limb if it is not done with the proper equipment and gear.
