Deep within the Radgar Mountains lies the home of the Laminon Astrali. Built within the cavern walls of a timeless ravine are hundreds of homes made of wood and stone that are connected by extensive bridges and illuminated by crystal light and cavernous blooms.
Besides Ophithana, Embercall is the only other major city built within and around a natural monument of Stellagos with little assistance from its inhabitants beyond their creature comforts. This is majorly shown with the Embenirum Castle at the end of the river that runs at the lowest point of Embercall, where hundreds of years of timeless care and effort has rewarded the Laminon Royals a castle completely made of crystal.
History
Early Years
When Odum's Hunt ended, it was no surprise that Hallias Yenerin was the first to depart from the collection of his siblings with a large group who disagreed with how Hypselle Aster had handled the events. He wanted to set out with a plan somewhere far away from his sister's meddling and positive nature: to find somewhere his ideas would be heard and listened to without distaste.
Although it took a long time slinking past already claimed territories and rough terrain that harbored no kindness for those who ventured through it, an unfortunate accident sent Hallias hurtling into the deep recess of a cavern fall below the new paths he and his people had created. A broken wing and grief kept him grounded as he washed up on the shores of a glowing cavern, looking around for any chance of survival after a brutal fall.
Small messengers from above kept him informed that his group was sending a rescue party to help him up, and for a week he waited for his rescue. It seemed like it was coming far too slow as his wing continued to ache with pain, his impatience leading him to turn to the natural world around him for shelter, food, and medical supplies. As he explored, he realized how comfortable it was in this ravine, with a built in natural spring and food that grew beneath the surface, alongside the defensable depth that made it difficult for any enemy without wings to easily reach it.
When the search party finally arrived, Hallias had already begun work on a stone home on the outskirts of the major crystal deposit on the river lake's edge. The berries and fish that resided in the chamber had kept him healthy and well fed, while also providing a pain-managing ointment to his wing that allowed slow healing. Upon the finding of this natural utopia under the mountains, it was decided that they would live here in a place they would call Embercall.
Once the first few buildings were completed and the first room of the Embenirum Castle was hollowed out, Embercall became an official city in the year 23 AL.
Notable Locations
Embenirum Castle
Built entirely within a giant deposit of Embenirum, this castle is a reflective masterpiece of years of tedious work and the marvel of a Laminon's covet. Hallias himself lives within its crystalized walls, though he never leaves his great room and only communicates by written letter.
A few Laminon Astrali he found as Nova also live there as his children, though they are also a rare sight to see unless they are visiting or touring Embercall for schooling.
