The natural home of the Cetun Astrali, Whirlpool Habror is a bustling city built for the creatures who love life beneath the waves. Despite being mainly built for creatures that can swim and breathe underwater, the city development committees and workers of the underwater utopia have jumped leaps and bounds in its innovation since its founding. Alongside the natural buildings made of coral, sea stone, and glass, glass domes have been developed with natural sunlight lamps and working oxygen cycling systems that allow those above sea level to enjoy life in the depths.
Though this city is known for its celebrations and care for one another, its purpose is also to defend Stellagos from any waterborn enemies. Though it is easy to visit from the coasts of the continent, Whirlpool Harbor's far borders with the Leviathan Sea are gated off with obsidian bars that were built in Chromena to help keep any unwanted visitors at bay. The tall spire of the lighthouse, Wiley's Watch, is also used to help watch far beyond the Stellagan coasts in case of raiding enemies from sea or sky.
History
Early Years
After the destructive events of Odum's Hunt and the death of The First sibling Wiley Marius, the Cetun Astrali who did not wish to follow Hypselle Aster to the safe space now known as Starhaven had
to find their own way without a leader. Many of the Cetun mourned the loss of their First, as many saw him as an older brother who taught them how to do everything they had needed to survive before his death.
The small group of refugees found their way into the waters just off of The Burnt Prairie, where they came across a thriving ecosystem consisting of seaweed forests and coral reefs that housed many creatures they could use for food or for companionship. Though it took them nearly twenty years to complete it, the pillar of Cetun strength and an ode to the memory of Wiley Marius was erected in the center of their community. They named the lighthouse Wiley's Watch, to honor their First while also taking a pledge to avoid the devastating loss they once felt.
As for the name of their home, the constant whirlpools that kept their underwater lifestyle alive became their inspiration. Whirlpool Harbor was finally founded in 24 AL, and became a pillar of the Astrali communities.
Notable Locations
Wiley's Watch
Wiley's Watch is the standing lighthouse in the center of Whirlpool Harbor that stands several hundred feet above sea level, with a infinite whirlpool of water circling its waterline halfway up the tower. The lower levels house some of the Harbor Rangers that are conscripted to keeping twenty-four hour watch on the surroundings of the city and Stellagos, while the upper levels are mainly for patrolling or paying tribute to Wiley Marius.
Wiley's Pulsarian Bloom was transported via magic and careful maneuvering to the highest level of Wiley's Watch after its completion in 24 AL. It is left under constant supervision, though anyone is able to visit and pay their respects to the original Cetun should they wish. The Pulsarian Bloom often shows visions of some of his happiest moments with their kind, making it not uncommon that often young Cetun Astrali are brought here to learn from these memories, and leave some token of thanks.
