ARPG Update Notes 05
Hey there Stellians!
Today I have a rather small yet important update to Roamkin and their interpretation in the ARPG.
Roamkin Masterlists | Live Now
The initial launch of Roamkin Cards was a quick and overall simple way to bring companions into the game with little work by both admin and users. It was implemented to simply allow design changes at will with no need for design approval, while still giving the benefits to Stellaborn. However, after some time sitting with the system, I have started to realize some points of confusion that could start to arise as time and player count rise regarding designs that were made for the cards, and specifically, what could happen at the time of trading.
Although the lack of tracking designs makes the process easier on approvals for both members and admin, that lack would likely cause trading to become difficult and cause friction if someone were to trade *only* the card or *only* the design. No matter which route was hypothesized, it was evident that confusion would likely become prevalent during the process. This lack of design tracking would also make it difficult should a member or admin wish to make Roamkin for sale or trade with or without a Roamkin card to be able to go with it.
To alleviate this issue, it has been decided that Roamkin Cards will now be converted to their own Masterlist entries hosted on the StarlightCommons Masterlist Account. This change of organizational methods for the companion species is necessary to avoid any potential ownership confusion or incur any problems of trading a ‘piece’ of an ARPG character, while also allowing further potential for Roamkin as a whole.
Although they are being held in a different method than the cards, the usage of Roamkin and the Spectreat will be majorly the same; there are some differences:
- ★ ★ ★ Roamkin will now be required to go through nearly the same Design Approval process as Stellaborn. This is an important change to ensure that designs are properly tracked for the new masterlist system.
- ★★ However, the Spectreat will remain the same as before. A Roamkin only needs to consume a Spectreat once, and the design and anomalies can be changed as much through Design Approval as desired by the owner without the use of another item.
- ★ Like Stellaborn, any designs committed to the Roamkin’s masterlist cannot be removed, separated, or deleted.
- Roamkin will now be transferred from user to user via Greener Pastures Salon & Realty, like Stellaborn.
- You can still purchase Roamkin from Critter Korner with Star Tokens, though they are now blank Masterlist slots instead of Roamkin Cards.
- You can still surrender Roamkin to Critter Korner to receive Star Tokens. Any surrendered Roamkin will be redesigned and resold for Star Tokens.
Although this change will bring Design Approvals into the mix for Roamkin, it will overall be a better experience than the potential confusion the card situation would cause in trades down the line, and allow a clearer experience for designers to create and sell/trade Roamkin designs for themselves.

Roamkin Card Conversion | Live Now
As of the posting of this news article, any existing Roamkin cards have been converted to Masterlist slots on the StarlightCommons Masterlist Account. This includes any Roamkin that may have already been bonded to Stellaborn and/or have consumed a Spectreat.
The Roamkin have been separated into the Roamkin tab of the masterlist, then further nestled underneath their species in a folder. The order of the Roamkin was done randomly by submissions and then by the alphabetical order of the unbonded cards from the Obsidian Bank. A screenshot of the bank has been locked and archived at the number of Roamkin Cards shown on May 26th, 2026, and will remain as an archival piece for logging purposes and for users to check that items were not missed in the transfer to the masterlist. The bank will no longer show the Roamkin Cards section after June 1st, 2026, to avoid confusion.
The images for Roamkin Cards will still be used for informational purposes as well as for Events, Activities, and Critter Korner. The ‘cards’ function of Roamkin will now be defunct.
