Getting Started
Welcome to Kunvadis, Traveler!
My name is Fable, and this guide is your starting point for the Starlight Commons Art Roleplaying Game. Kunvadis is a big world with lots to explore, so this page covers only the first few steps to get you started. Once you're comfortable, you can dive into our other guides at your own pace.
Let's get you started with your Stellaborn, then learn how to play and grow your character into something amazing!
Getting a Stellaborn
To start, you need a Stellaborn to participate in the ARPG. These are posted as sales by the owner, PalletEclipse, on her socials. She has two easy-to-check folders for any open designs waiting to find their home, on both ToyHouse and DeviantArt.
There may also be some available for trade in the Official Starlight Commons Discord.
Once you have a Stellaborn, continue to the next steps!
Customizing and Modifying your Character
Right after getting your first ever Stellaborn, make sure you grab your Welcome Basket from The Saddlery Shop! It holds some Star Tokens and Anomaly Items to get you started with customization items, in case you want to change up your design a bit.
Once you've created a fun new design or update to your Stellaborn, you'll need to apply it through Design Approval. You can use the Design Guide to help you through the customization process of your Stellaborn.
Once that's been submitted, all you have to do is wait for approval. This process can take up to 5 days. Do not be discouraged by declines; they are a regular part of the process and do not mean you did anything wrong. If an image has been declined, the Moderator will explain the reason in their response. Once approved, it will appear in the Approved Designs tab of your character's Masterlist.
Once the design is all done to your liking, move on to the next step!
Complete Expeditions
Now is the fun part: picking up the pen or dusting off the keyboard! The first thing you should complete once your Stellaborn is ready is the Primary Expedition. This Expedition is meant to cover the starting point of their journey on their own, so a simple example would be a younger version of your Stellaborn setting out on their adventure. Be sure to include a background with at least three elements and your character in full-body. (Wasn't I so cute?!)
Once that's done, submit your piece for approval. Once approved, there's no limit to what you can do in the rest of the ARPG! The approval process can take up to 5 days. Do not be discouraged by declines; they are a regular part of the process and do not mean you did anything wrong. If an image has been declined, the Moderator will explain the reason in their response.
It's also recommended to complete your Fishing Expedition, Mining Expedition, and Farming Expedition. These Expeditions allow you to enter the bi-weekly Gathering Activities and start collecting materials to be used at the Crafting Center.
Once you have that done, proceed to the next step!
Learn some Spells
Now that you have your Expedition Stamp Booklet in hand, make your way to Quasar Academy's Mythic Courses. Depending on what magic calls to you, attend those classes to start learning your first spells! Though it's important to note you only get one choice at a time.
I decided to learn Light Magic, so I chose the Light 101 Course, then sent my go in for approval. This process can take up to 5 days. Do not be discouraged by declines; they are a regular part of the process and do not mean you did anything wrong. If an image has been declined, the Moderator will explain the reason in their response.
Now that it has been approved, I have learned the spells Mystic Arrow and Repose of Vitality. These simple spells help me bolster my attributes, which might help me gain rarer rewards in Events or Gathering Activities if I use them.
