Their skin is thick and covered in heat-insulating, hydrophobic fur, allowing any liquid to glide off them without touching the skin. Since the Kriggy loves wallowing in any lava bath they can find, this fur is necessary for keeping their super-heated core level. Their internal temperature ranges depending on the subspecies, with the Bubore normalizing around 2,000°F (1,100°C) and the Handsomer normalizing around 1,200°F (650°C).

However, this natural patterning can be altered using a [[Spectreat]] to follow the will and desire of either the Kriggy or its bonded. Research has concluded that following the consumption of a [[Spectreat]] they can change color and pattern at will, however, it does not apply to their [[Astral Core]].

This habit is either a boon or a detriment to a [[Stellaborn]], especially if they make a habit of leaving around smelted ingots but no unsmelted ores for their Kriggy to eat. When a Bubore eats raw ore instead, they digest it within a few minutes in their [[Astral Core]] then spit back out a ingot ready to use.

Their strength and ability to haul even the heaviest objects is an immeasurable boon to most [[Stellaborn]], making the Hamsomer a vital companion in most businesses. When they aren't hauling large items or helping out their bonded, the Hamsomer is a laid back [[Roamkin]] that loves to follow their bonded around, regardless of if they want the trailing friend or not.
